Here’s how a copywriter can help launch your website
Last week a business owner asked me to help him write copy for his soon-to-be-launched website.
He had the branding, the logo, the values – but needed help translating that into paper form.
And it was a wonderful, exhilarating experience. Working with people who believe in their business and what they stand for is something very different. It’s these clients I love to work with. Their energy is infectious.
You’d have an intimate understanding of your business. What your difference is. Your attitude to work. So, as a copywriter, my job is to unpack that, put it into a succinct format, understand the features and benefits of the services, then understand the appropriate market.

There are also lots of ideal customers. Think about yours. Who are your common clients? What are their traits, characteristics or similarities? Your typical customer for one service might be males between 25-40 who have their own business and live in Brighton. Another could be stay-at-home mums with two kids who are based in the west. The more specific you can make your customer, the better – especially when it comes to constructing copy for a website or brochure.
The end result? The website copy was delivered ahead of time, on budget with a very happy customer. And it all started with a simple conversation.
